Torrenting

Torrenting allows you download entire folders as one download. This is very nice because you can use this to download full albums and entire discographies.

First you need a torrent client. I use UTorrent, http://utorrent.com/, because it is very simple to use and is a pretty light weight programHowever, there are tons of clients to choose from. TorrentFreak compared 20 of the top clients. http://torrentfreak.com/bittorrent-client-comparison/ Also, you should check to make sure the program you install is made for your operating system. Here is a website that lists clients compatible with Mac and Windows http://wiki.etree.org/index.php?page=BitTorrent

Now that you have chosen your client, you can start torrenting. Go to Google and type in whatever you want to download, and then type “torrent” afterwards. For example: If I wanted to torrent Da Drought 3 by Lil Wayne, I would type in the search bar “da drought 3 lil wayne torrent.”

Generally, there will be a lot of websites to choose from, so you find one that works well with you. Personally I like http://thepiratebay.org/ and http://isohunt.com/. These sites have a pretty vast library, but have failed me before. Here are some alternatives. http://netforbeginners.about.com/od/peersharing/a/torrent_search.htm

Now that you have selected the site, there will usually be a link somewhere that says “download torrent.” Click that link and then a window should pop up that says “open with” and select the torrent client you downloaded.

      Now the torrent should start.
